What are the recent inclinations in the data collection technologies?
With the developments on the sides of servers and clients, virtualization methodology has brought forward the idea of keeping almost all of the servers and clients centrally, in the central offices. The basic feature of the virtualization involving running more than one virtual server on a physical server, is now a common feature and the software companies provide this feature free of charge. The central data collection is not necessary for this feature. However in order to be able to benefit from the advantages that the virtualization technologies provide, storage systems must be established and only for that reason, the prevalence of the virtualization made inclining against data collection necessary. BBS met with pharmaceutical Industry in March 25th at the office Microsoft located at Levent. During the meeting which was arranged by means of cooperation of Microsoft, introduction of "Congress, Efficiency and Cost Management System Application for Pharmeautical Industry" was made.

The issues, such as the fact corporate business processes should be realized over Moss through solutions created at Moss platform, which is Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server and how to make necessary arrangements so that the companies could run more effectively, were explained by means of presentation of İlker Heper, Data Processing Director of Egis İlaçları.

According to Bekir Alp Sayın, General Director of Bilgi Birikim, two areas are widely used in terms of use of outsourcing. According to Sayın, who says that the area where the use of outsourcing is most widespread in field of information technologies is the service area where first level internal support requirements are met, which is defined as helpdesk, another area is software developing area.

The first annual IBM solution partners meeting of 2009 was held at Four Seasons Hotel Bosphorus on January 21st . The awarded solution partners received their prizes at this meeting. At Software-Lotus category, BBS received the prize for "the solution partner of the year" for the third time in a row.

The fluctuations in the foreign exchange market seem to have affected the information technology sector negatively. As the companies, which are active in this sector mainly work with US Dollar, the negative effect is even more increased. BBS General Manager Bekir Alp Sayın, who stated that they achieved an important growth concerning their turnover, said "We aim to calculate this growth in terms of rate of profitability. We achieved a growth of 53% in the first seven months when compared to last year. But the profitability rate is not the same. We think that this is due to the regression in the exchange rates. This regression affects the whole sector negatively. But our aim is to overcome these obstacles and increase our profitability in the same rate"

SiKA, Consolidated its Data processing Center with BBS...

BBS has currently realized the transformation of the data processing center of the company Sika Yapı Kimyasalları (Construction Chemicals). The transformation virtualized a lot of physical servers and combined them in less physical servers and these physical servers were chosen in blade format and by centralizing the data storage and back-up, cost and work power were made in terms of place, energy and heat losses.

Sika Yapı Kimyasalları A.Ş. Data processing Manager Mehmet Bergin pointed out that the solution created by BBS is the first within the scope of Sika and that the District Manager in Turkey approved of this solution a lot. He stated that they are planning a hosting service for the CRM project servers in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, which are within the district countries. IBM Software Academy Award Ceremony...

BBS became the sponsor of the Software Academy Award Ceremony, which has been organized by IBM for the first time this year, as a Premier Certified Partner. Students from the teams, which were created to train the software engineers of the future and who received a place in the competition, were given their awards in the Auditorium in the Yıldız Center Campus of the Yıldız Technical University. The students, who developed a software application, which would solve a real problem they could face in their business life, received the awards they earned from their own teachers.

The additional office floor, which was necessary as a result of the development of BBS, was opened with a opening ceremony on 30th May. The opening ceremony, which was attended by all the employees, started with an opening speech of BBS General Manager Bekir Alp Sayın. BBS, who offers turn-key solutions in the information technologies sector, attended the " Symantec Turkey Business Associates Summit", which was organized in Istanbul on 27th May. Bilgi Birikim Sistemleri , which was one of the three highest SMB turnover making business associates of Symantec, with its performance this year, was given the "The 2nd Highest Turnover Making Company in the SME Market Award".

The Turkey Business Associates Summit 2008 event started with the interactive attendance of solution partners. Symantec shared its canal strategy with the participants and gave tips, which would create advantages in competition. The event, which was also attended by expert lecturers from abroad, concentrated on subjects such as preparing environments which would create advantages in competition in management, sales, marketing and technical areas. The conference, which is one of the biggest technology conferences in the United States and which attracts attention all over the world was organized by Lotusphere IBM on 8th May in the Fuji Hall of the Swiss Hotel in Istanbul for the first time. BBS Application Development Manager Nadi Tanca was one of the participants who gave a presentation about using the existing information technologies of the companies more efficiently. Türk Telekom's Network Management Servers Provided by BBS

	Nortel Netaş Türkiye has chosen HP for the servers that needed for the operation of network management software of Turk Telekom's 5 main regional centres in Turkey.

The servers employ Red Hat Enterprise Linux Advanced Server as an operating system, Intel's 64-bit Xeon EM64T processor, and the HP ProLiant DL380 G4s, which are the bestselling servers in Turkey and the world as the industrial standard, with an optimised 2U-high rack.

In each of its regional centres in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, BBS has completed the installation of double servers that are designed as a back-up for one another. The tape back-up of the data kept in the servers is managed through the Online Extensions of the HP OpenView Storage DataProtector software. Thanks to these extensions the data back-up can be done at any time of the day without shutting down or stopping the database where the data is kept.

Pegasus' Tickets Printed With Dual Core Processors

One of the growing domestic air transporters, Pegasus Airlines has adopted servers with dual core processor for its reservation and ticket sales system.

Using Oracle database for its Online reservation and ticket sales system on the web, Pegasus has preferred the ProLiant DL580 G4 server, HP's latest product in its class, to achieve prospective scalability and an increase in its performance. As web-based application servers Pegasus has also preferred the HP ProLiant DL380 G5.

The load created by the very fast operations is handled by 800 MHz memory modules with an integrated buffer, using serial communication like SAS hard discs and the PCI-E card slots in the server. The hot-swap power sources and the fans are backed up. All the systems have been installed by BBS.

BBS Now an Official Red Hat Partner

After a meeting held in May, with the participation of Red Hat Channel Sales Manager François Lucatelli, Hakan Aydın and Gökhan Yeltan from BBS, and Prosoft executives, BBS has become Red Hat's second official partner in Turkey.

Economic Shift to Real 64-Bit by Onur Air

An airline company with both domestic and international flights, and therefore with a need to be able to work without interruption,
Onur Air, after having entrusted its Datacenter to HP ProLiant industry-standard servers, has again preferred HP's Integrity rx260 for its Datacenter at the Atatürk Airport, with a connection to the server at headquarter.

These rack-optimised 2U-high servers provide both an economic and a high-performance environment for the needed software. The system's EPIC architecture features two of Intel's real 64-bit Intel Itanium 2 processors.

While the present software makes use of the MS Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition (64-bit) as an operating system environment, the same processors will in the future be able to run other software that makes use of operation systems like the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Advanced Server, the SuSE Linux Enterprise Edition, HP-UX 11i v.2 and the HP Open VMS, in a real 64-bit environment. With this choice of alternative operating systems the Integrity rx2620 provides flexibility for any future software changes. Economical Back-up Automation for Toyotetsu

Toyotetsu has centralised its tape back-up processes with the cheapest solution available in the market: the HP StorageWorks 1/8 Tape Autoloader.

Previously executing its tape back-up processes separately on individual tape drivers, Toyotetsu has chosen to consolidate its back-up processes with a single hardware: HP's economical and high-performance 1/8 Ultrium 960 tape autoleader. This hardware also gets rid of the need to interfere with the cartridge? during back-up. Thanks to the 8 cartridge slots in the equipment,
6.4 TB data will be kept accessible in the tapes. The system employs the HP LTO Ultrium 960 tape driver, which has a capacity of writing 400/800 GB data on a single cartridge. The system's installation and back-up planning has been carried out by BBS at Toyotetsu's plant in Gebze.

IBM and BBS Have Provided the Linux Infrastructure for Sabah Newspaper.

The Sabah newspaper, by use of IBM server products and BBS applications, has shifted to the platform-independent Linux infrastructure system, thereby reducing costs and increasing performance. This means that the Sabah newspaper is the first corporation to make use of SAP on a Linux infrastructure. Sabah Newspaper IT Director Rıdvan Uzunal said, "The reason for adopting the Linux structure is that we wanted to operate on a platform-independent system in terms of an operation system. BBS Successfully Passed ISO's Interim Audit.

BBS continues its approach of high quality service, which was certified on 27 September 2003, by getting a full grade during on the interim audit conducted by WORLD CERTIFICATION SERVICES (WCS). It is stated that after the WCS interim audit, BBS progressed much since the date it received the certificate.
During the WCS audit it has been observed that BBS has an efficient and functional quality system. In November, the audits conducted by firms which get services from BBS jointly observed that BBS has implemented an efficient quality system and has been successfully operating it. Mr. Levent, how did you improve your cooperation with Superonline? How do you evaluate the period of your cooperation?
Our cooperation with Superonline has a quite long history. During the time when firms started to demand corporate Internet connections our company began a search for an ISP.     Participating in the "Seminar for textile manufacturers" organized by Oracle in Brashov, Dites Software SRL presented its solution alternatives for the textile sector.     The firms' representatives, knowing how advanced the textile sector in Turkey is, listened attentively to Dites' solution alternatives.
