HPE Simplivity Gen10 with Panasonic

Panasonic Electric Works Türkiye's Digital Transformation: A Success Story of Efficiency and Savings

Industry Leader's Investment in the Future

Panasonic Electric Works Turkey is an industry leader that brings innovative products and solutions that deliver comfort, safety, and energy efficiency to global markets. Exporting to over 60 countries and boasting a "Super Brand" brand like VİKO, the company reinforces its leadership in Türkiye through technology and innovation. To sustain this growth momentum and gain an advantage in the future's competitive landscape, a strategic investment to take its technology infrastructure to the next level was essential. However, this continuous growth was beginning to strain the limits of the existing IT infrastructure.

Technological Obstacles to Growth

Industry leadership and sustained growth had pushed Panasonic Electric Works Türkiye's technology infrastructure to its limit. Three key obstacles threatening operational excellence and jeopardizing future growth had become apparent:
  • Performance Issues: Older generation servers were unable to deliver the targeted performance in critical enterprise applications, slowing down workflows and negatively impacting the company's competitive agility.
  • Insufficient Capacity: The ever-increasing volume of data was leaving the existing storage infrastructure inadequate and hindering the company's future growth strategies.
  • Inefficient Operations: The average recovery time of 45 minutes to an hour posed a critical risk. In the event of data loss, an outage lasting hours could bring both the production line and customer operations to a halt.

Overcoming these challenges meant not only solving current problems but also moving more firmly into the future.

Solution: Strategic Partnership and Hyper-Converged Architecture

To overcome the technological hurdles it faced, Panasonic Electric Works Turkey decided to move away from traditional server architecture and move towards a hyperconverged architecture. In line with this strategic decision, detailed analysis led to a collaboration with Bilgi Birikim Sistemleri (BBS) for the project and the use of the HPE Simplivity Gen10 technology solution.

The most critical challenge of the project was implementing the digital transformation without interrupting operations. BBS's seamless transition plan, implemented while the systems were live, underscored that the project was not only a technical achievement but also a strategic operation that maintained business continuity.

"Their preparedness foradverse situations and their ability to produce quick and accurate solutions to some of our changing requests throughout the process proved that we had chosen the right project partner." — Hasan Arslan, IT General Manager, Panasonic Electric Works Türkiye

This successful implementation has had revolutionary results in the company's operational capabilities.

Results: Magnificent Transformation in Numbers

This transformation transformed Panasonic Electric Works Türkiye's IT infrastructure from a cost center into a strategic asset that accelerates business goals. The efficiency achieved by the HPE Simplivity project is clearly demonstrated in the "before" and "after" comparison:

Criterion Previous Status (Old Architecture) Next State (with HPE Simplivity) Gain
Backup Recovery Time Average 45-60 minutes Average 2 minutes ~96% Faster
Data Storage Area High Capacity Needs Up to 90% Savings Maximum Efficiency
Server Copy Long and Complicated Processes Order of Seconds Exceptional Agility
General Capacity Current Capacity 50% Increase Ready for the Future

These figures fundamentally changed the company's operational agility. As Hasan Arslan noted, the gains weren't limited to speed; they also fundamentally strengthened business continuity policies:

"We've gained rapid horizontal expansion, scalability, and flexibility. While copying a server took seconds, backing up a server and restoring it from a backup, depending on its size, took minutes. We also have the ability to store our instantaneous, minute-by-minute, hourly, daily, and weekly backups in our local and remote locations for the long term, using policies tailored to the organization's needs." — Hasan Arslan, IT General Manager, Panasonic Electric Works Türkiye

However, the benefits of the project went beyond these concrete figures and brought significant strategic advantages to the company.

Looking Ahead: Foresight and Strategic Advantages

This investment not only solved existing technological problems, but also gave Panasonic Electric Works Türkiye the ability to foresee the future and make more strategic decisions.
  • Enhanced Planning Capability: Thanks to the new architecture, the IT team has the opportunity to instantly monitor capacity increases and make future growth plans much more accurately in light of this data.
  • Financial Forecasting: The ability to make much earlier and clearer forecasts on future IT investments has directly positively impacted the company's overall cash flow and budget planning.
  • Increased Team Productivity: IT teams now spend minutes rather than hours on operations like backup restoration, transforming them from reactive problem solvers into strategic advisors who proactively add value to business units.

Result: Corporate Efficiency Comes from the Right Investment and the Right Business Partner

Panasonic Electric Works Türkiye's HPE Simplivity investment, implemented with consultancy from Bilgi Birikim Sistemleri (BBS), goes far beyond a simple technological upgrade. This project has been a strategic move that has increased corporate efficiency, reduced operational risks, and secured the company's growth targets. Ultimately, this project is not just a technology upgrade for Panasonic Electric Works Turkey; it's also a strategic efficiency manifesto that solidifies its market leadership, enhances its innovation capacity, and allows it to look to the future with confidence.
