Digital Infrastructure Modernization and Security Transformation with HDI Insurance

HDI Sigorta, which serves customers across Turkey through more than 4,000 agencies, needs a high-performance, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure to deliver uninterrupted and reliable insurance services.

As part of the modernization of this infrastructure—critical to the continuity of insurance operations—HDI Sigorta carried out a comprehensive transformation project together with Bilgi Birikim Sistemleri (BBS) and VMware by Broadcom.

Within the scope of the project, BBS worked in close collaboration with HDI Sigorta from architectural design through implementation and delivery, contributing to the transformation of the existing infrastructure into a more modern, agile, and secure structure.

Modern Infrastructure with VMware Cloud Foundation

The project was built on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) technologies. Through the infrastructure modernized with VCF, HDI Sigorta's critical workloads were migrated to an architecture supported by higher performance, faster operations, and advanced security capabilities.

This transformation not only renewed the infrastructure technologies but also made IT operations faster, more standardized, and more manageable.

Concrete Benefits Delivered by the Project

As a result of the transformation, HDI Sigorta achieved measurable improvements in its IT operations:

25–30% Faster API Response Times – The modernized infrastructure improved application API response times by 25–30%, helping critical insurance applications run faster and enhancing the user experience.
50% Faster Virtual Machine Provisioning – Virtual machine (VM) provisioning times were cut by 50%, enabling IT teams to deploy new resources faster and respond more agilely to application and infrastructure needs.
Major Improvement in Update Times – Update processes that used to take around 1 hour were reduced to as little as 1 minute, allowing maintenance and update operations to be completed faster and IT operations to be managed more efficiently.
Advanced Security through a Zero Trust Approach – Using VMware vDefend, the project implemented micro-segmentation security supporting a Zero Trust approach. Micro-segmentation enabled more controlled separation of workloads within the network and helped limit the potential impact of a security incident, allowing HDI Sigorta to protect its critical applications and workloads with a more advanced security architecture.

BBS worked alongside HDI Sigorta at every stage of the project, helping ensure the technology was positioned in line with the organization's needs.
